The Power of Decision

There was a time when I believed I was in control, making “choices” and steering my life in the direction I thought best. I would say, I chose this, and trust that everything would fall into place. But then, I realized the true power didn’t lie in choosing—it lay in deciding.

Think of something in your life that you “chose,” but it isn’t unfolding the way you expected. Now, close your eyes and reframe it. Instead of saying, I chose this, say, I decided this. Feel the shift. How does your body react? Does it feel stronger, more certain? That’s the power of a decision.

A friend said it this way: A choice is like a line in the sand—easily altered, swept away by the tide of uncertainty. A decision, on the other hand, is a line in concrete—firm, unwavering, unshakable.
